Beauty Boost: THE Best Manicure-Pedicure You’ll Ever Have
Step by Step: How to give yourself a spa mani-pedi.
What you need:
- Nabila K Mani-Pedi Peppermint Scrub.
- Nail file, buffer, nail brush and clippers.
- Cotton balls and nail polish remover.
- Nail polish (base and top coats too).
- Cuticle sticks.
- Nabila K Mani-Pedi Peppermint Oil
- Two small bowl with warm water (place colorful stones in the bottom).
- Large bowl with warm water (place colorful stones in the bottom).
- Large Turkish towels.
- Nabila K Mani-Pedi Peppermint Lotion.
Step One: Nail Care
Make sure you begin your mani-pedi with clean hands and feet. Then, remove any remnants of polish on your nails using the cotton ball and polish remover. Try to avoid the acetate removers as they are super harsh on your nails.
Step Two: Soak
Place your hands and feet into the warm water and set a timer for at least 10 minutes. Listen to a book on tape or some relaxing music. This is a great time for a diffuser or to light a scented candle. Allow yourself to play with the stones at the bottom of the bowls…it helps circulate the water and is ultra-relaxing.
Step Three: Shape nails
Remove your hands from the bowls of water and dry. Next, clip your nails if they are too long, then file them. Apply the cuticle oil on each finger at the cuticle and rub it in lightly. Remove your feet from their bath, dry, and follow the same procedure.
Step Four: Exfoliate
Using the scrub, exfoliate your feet and then your hands. This is easier to do if you use a small nail brush or loofah. If you have a callus remover tool, such as a ped-egg, use this to remove calluses on feet. Do not use it on hands.
Step Five: Buff and Shine
Make sure both your hands and feet are completely dry, then using the buffing tool, lightly buff your nails. Don’t be tempted to skip this step as it helps make your nails smooth and buffs down any edges your regular nail file may have left behind. Take a clean cotton ball, place a small amount of rubbing alcohol on it (a VERY small amount), and wipe over your nails. This removes any residue and allows the polish to last longer on your nails. Another great tip is to apply a small amount of Vaseline around your nails so if you color outside the lines when applying polish, it is easy to wipe off without messing up your paint job.
Step Six: Polish
Apply a base coat, allow to dry, then apply your color. After this follow with a top coat, allowing all polishes to dry between coats. Take a little extra top coat and apply to the tips of your nails. This helps keep your paint from chipping as you type. Once everything is dry, finish off your spa experience with your mani-pedi lotion.
Maintenance: Apply cuticle oil each night before bed to keep nails and cuticles nourished and protected.
Warning: For adult and external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs & contact physician.
